Brief Branch History

The Roscoe Branch is one of the oldest of The Church of Jesus Christ.  The church held meetings as a branch in Lucyville (Roscoe) in 1887.  In the early 1920’s, the Lucyville Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ began to meet in the Dunlevy school house.  They met there until 1949.  A special meeting was held and it was decided to purchase property in Roscoe (Lucyville) since the branch was originally there.  Our new branch was dedicated on January 1, 1950.

The first church newspaper, the “Gospel Reflector” was printed at the Roscoe Ledger in 1905 and was printed there for many years before becoming the “Gospel News” which is a monthly church paper circulated all over the world.  Lucyville (Roscoe) was also the founding and organization of the first Missionary Benevolent Association on June 16, 1905

The Church of Jesus Christ is established for the worship of Almighty God and his Son Jesus Christ
