| The Monongahela Branch Ordained Deacons and Deaconesses Both Deacons and Deaconesses assist the church in visiting of the sick, the aged, and others who are unable to care for themselves. In addition to spiritual encouragement, they should attempt to aid the members in the natural (or temporal) side of their lives. A Deacon takes care of the natural needs of the church and the spiritual needs when its not prudent for a sister to do so. A Deaconess assists with any spiritual needs that would not be prudent for a brother to do, setting the sacrament table, assisting with a sister’s baptism, and feet washing. Both must be a good example to all members, above reproach and full of good works.
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye
