The Church of Jesus Christ, located at 508 Reed Street [corner of Reed St. & Park Ave.], Clairton, PA. 15025, is a community-oriented Church offering the pure Gospel to all age groups and racial backgrounds.  The Church is structured according to the divine teachings in the scriptures.  Our primary purpose is to freely offer the gift of salvation to any and all repentant individuals of accountable age.  Salvation, in and through Jesus Christ, imparts the true happiness of life to all who will accept it.  Weekly fellowship serves to strengthen the membership in keeping the commandments of Christ and to all those who will obey the commandments of Jesus Christ they will be protected from the destructive power of sin!

In these troubled times, with problems of life on every side, the light of the pure Gospel shines forth with worship, praise and activities for all age groups.  Jesus once said, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”  These words of Jesus have been, are and always will be true!  The Church of Jesus Christ offers to one and all the joy and fulfillment of life through our worship services.  We cordially extend to you and yours an invitation to come and worship with us.  Our doors are open to the best of people and to the worst of sinners.  We offer the right hand of sweet fellowship to all!  Please visit our services; experience the joy, feel the love!  Jesus said, “Come and see”
 

Brief History of the Clairton Mission

The Church of Jesus Christ in Clairton, PA, has a rich and full history.  The Church’s original location was West Elizabeth, PA founded on March 10, 1852.  Our historical record reads as follows, “It declared no connection whatsoever with Brigham Young and the twelve whose headquarters or home is in the Valley of the Great Salt Lake region.”

Furthermore it is recorded, “As some individuals have been inclining to the people of Salt Lake and their doctrines, we have felt it our duty while sitting in Council before the Lord, that all who hold such adulterous and wicked doctrines, after due examination before witnesses, shall be cut off from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, as the Spirit may direct and shall have no fellowship with the Saints.”

The Church of Jesus Christ, West Elizabeth, met regularly worshiping God for more than a century until man’s progress threatened our location.  Our Church was on a lot of ground that the Pico Chemical Plant sought by emanate domain.  The Church yielded the property to Pico in the early part of the 1970’s and sought for another suitable location.

The late Brother Samuel Kirschner, Apostle, led our search for a new location.  The Church continued to hold services in the homes of the Saints until 1975 when the building at 508 Reed Street in Clairton, PA, was found to be suitable for our Church relocation.  The building was remodeled and continues to be our Church location to this day. 

It is our fervent hope and prayer that the Lord will someday fill our building beyond capacity.  This is our expectation as we continue from week to week to worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth.
